Terms & Conditions of Service
Effective Date: August 2026 | Global Trust Packers and Movers
1. Scope of Agreement & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions govern all relocation contracts, household shifting orders, corporate office moves, vehicle transportation services (car/bike carriers), and warehousing agreements executed by Global Trust Packers and Movers.
By accepting a written quotation, paying a booking deposit, or allowing our packing crew to begin work at your premises, you acknowledge having read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these contractual terms.
2. Pre-Move Survey, Quotation Accuracy & Extra Charges
All written quotations issued by Global Trust Packers and Movers are based on the initial inventory declaration, estimated volume/weight, route distance, and access conditions provided during pre-move inspection:
- Additional Inventory: Any unannounced articles, furniture, or boxes added on shifting day that were not listed on the original quote sheet will be charged proportionally based on additional volume occupied in the container vehicle.
- Access Elevation & Distance: Quotations assume normal stairwell or elevator access. Exceptional manual carrying beyond 50 meters from truck parking or multi-floor carrying without elevators may attract standard manual labor charges.
- Multi-Stop Pickups/Deliveries: Additional stopovers for loading or unloading at intermediate locations will be billed per extra transit point as specified in the booking voucher.
3. Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy
For safety, fire hazard prevention, and strict legal compliance under Indian Transport Laws, Global Trust Packers and Movers strictly prohibits the packing or transport of the following items:
4. Packing, Appliance Preparation & Inventory Checklists
To guarantee zero-damage relocation, clients are required to adhere to the following pre-packing procedures:
- Electrical Appliances: Refrigerators and deep freezers must be completely defrosted, cleaned, and dried at least 12 hours before pickup. Washing machines must be drained of internal water.
- Joint Inventory Verification: A written Consignment Note / Bilty detailing all box counts and item descriptions will be prepared during loading. The client must review, verify, and sign this inventory list prior to vehicle departure.
5. Transit Insurance & Claims Settlement Policy
When comprehensive transit insurance is opted for, Global Trust Packers and Movers files policy coverage with government-approved insurance underwriters protecting your declared goods against road accidents, vehicle rollover, fire, or catastrophic damage during transit:
- Damage Inspection at Unloading: Any physical damage or missing items must be explicitly recorded on the original Consignment Copy at the time of delivery in the presence of our supervisor.
- Claim Notice Window: Formal insurance claim applications, along with photographs and original invoices, must be submitted to our claims department within 48 hours of delivery.
- Exclusions: Insurance does not cover pre-existing damages, internal electronic circuit faults without external box damage, or items packed independently by the client ("Owner Packed Boxes").
6. Payment Terms, Billing & Cancellation Policy
Payment schedules are structured transparently to facilitate smooth logistics operations:
- Advance Booking Deposit: A standard advance deposit (typically 10% to 20%) is payable at the time of booking to reserve packing personnel and container trucks.
- Balance Settlement: The remaining balance amount must be settled prior to unloading at the destination premises via Cash, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, or Net Banking.
- Cancellation Terms: Full deposit refund is applicable if cancellation notice is given at least 48 hours prior to pickup date. Cancellations made within 24 hours of scheduled pickup may incur an administrative mobilization charge.
7. Delivery Timelines & Force Majeure Exemption
While Global Trust Packers and Movers makes every effort to strictly deliver consignments within promised timelines, we shall not be held liable for transit delays caused by Force Majeure events — including severe weather storms, floods, highway landslides, civil strikes, national border checkpost delays, or government traffic restrictions beyond our control.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This service agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal disputes or claims arising out of services provided by Global Trust Packers and Movers shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in West Bengal, India.
